We are middle-aged and stayed at this beautiful hotel from 5 May to 18 May 2009. The food caters for every taste including caviare and champagne for breakfast. There are 5 other restaurants to choose from, three in this hotel and 2 in the next. Choosing from Asian, Mexican, Spanish, Italian and Seafood. You can use use these restaurants 3 times a week booking through the Public Relations Dept. Other useful information is that you can pay a deposit(refundable on the return of towel)of 10 euros for a bath towel which you can change once during the day (more room in the case). The rooms are spacious and each has a hair dryer (basic no nozzle) a mini bar is provided and topped up every day with a bottle of water and three soft drinks and 1 beer per couple (not charged)also shower gel and shampoos. You are not near a beach but you can access one by walking to the next village in Playa Parasio and on the way there is an open air Lido with sea water in the pools. Great for the kids - lots of shaded areas. All in all this holiday was great especially the help we got from the Thomas Cook reps Ryan and Louise to get us tickets for Rod Stewart concert on 16 May - Thanks guys you made our Holiday - we'll be back. Pity we could not get into the Mexican and Italian more than once.
We had adjoining rooms for our children and this was ideal. Would definitely go again - perfect for 7 day break in the winter [Hide]

The room was clean and bright with balcony which looked out over the little beach down below and each night we could watch the sunset, as i said it was perfect. We found the bars served everything we would want and the restaurants were of a very high standard. The daily free bus into town is great! Overall i couldnt think of a single negative point to make and i just cant wait to get back there!!! It really is such a special place for us. I would very highly recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel . most drinks are self service which was a first for us (been all inclusive 5 times) but preferred it this way as you can put in as much or as little alcohol as you wanted.
The rooms where perfect size , cleaned everyday and free mini bar gets filled up everyday too ....it consists of 4 cans of fizzy juice (brand names) 2 cans of beer ,2 bottles of water very handy as you don't have to worry about hunting for something to drink in the middle of the night ! lol
It was so hot for October . we have been to tenerife before in April and the weather was not that great.

there where 5 different food presentations are laid out each day. We were just expecting a few nibbles but breakfast is a lovely continental spread with cheeses fruit pastries etc full English and you can also pick your choice of omelet being cooked to order.
During the afternoon there is a choice of 3 self serve restaurants and a snack bar . they serve snacks 24hrs a day.
there is a plaza area where there are bars and shops and also entertainment@ night ...which is rather poor ....but better than nothing .
there is also a night club(but have to pay for drinks) which is handy and after that you can get the other snack bar which is included in your all inclusive.

our hotel had 3 themed Restaurants which where great .you can have up to 3 bookings per week for all the restaurant's , hardest thing is which ones to book first ! fish ,Italian and Spanish were very smart and good food. we dined there for our friends birthday etc nice to get food served to the table for a change from the self service dining room .
you can use the sister hotels restaurants too which are oriental and Mexican but can only book on the night , if there are any spaces as its guests have priority . we ate @ the Mexican and it was top class. would advise to book the restaurants @ time of arrival or as soon as possible, as they do book up quick!

there were two big pools and a little kids pool . As we were in a party of 9 adults we spent all our time @ the infinity pool . fantastic view of the sea and very convenient as the snack bar/ bar are located there. You also get clean towels everyday for the pool just have to put a deposit down.
Sun loungers are a problem here, some ppl must get up @ 5am to put towels down and never sit on them!! so annoying!! but this problem seems to be everywhere !!!!

we went on the FREE BIRD catamaran boat trip good value for money and brilliant just not long enough! shop around to get a good price we went into playa de las americas !

the hotel also runs buses in to playa de las americas during the day for only 4 euro return providing you get on the designated bus (they have time limits to be back @)

so much more to say all good

overall brilliant holiday !
the hotel was that good we have booked again for Oct this year!

My wife and I stayed the Bahia Principe in Costa Adeje on 11th Jan for one week and I have to say that I totally agree with the comments made by 'tripper51'.

The hotel was clearly quieter at the time of year we went and as a result they were just about able to cope the number of hotel guests.

The hotel is spotless and staff who work there worked very hard to keep a busy ship well run and maintained.

Rooms were very nice, clean, spacious and adequate for a 4* hotel. Our room was at the back of the hotel with a view of a concrete jungle and only being on the second floor, was succeptable to noise of the hotel's private road (used by hotel staff to move things around the hotels in vans etc.). My biggest and probably only complaint about the rooms was that the floors and walls seemed quite thin, i could here a child running about at the early hours of most morings.. this drove me mad!

Food was varied in the main buffett but did get busy even this quiet time. The A La Carte restaurants were a little confusing to book. I'd have to say the Asian one was excellent.

Other than this, the landscape of the hotel was lovely and well layed out. Only having one heated pool was a bit of pain as the other huge pools lay empty most of the time.

To sum up.. we really enjoyed the stay in this hotel.. if you're going there soon, you'll love it.. would I return.. probably not but not for any major reason, just that there are nicer areas in the Canaries to stay at similar prices.

My Wife (46) Daughter (12) and myself (52) visited from 2 Jan 08 for 10 nights booking independently via hotelopia. Prior to this stay my wife and I stayed at the Bahia Principe Coba in Mexico in December 2007.
The following is my honest opinion of this hotel.
Firstly this is a wonderful, clean, hotel. Grounds are spotless and general service is good. Buffets have a good selection of food for all tastes. Snack bar also has decent food. Rooms are good and the all important shower is hot and strong. We had a suite with 3rd bed with views out to sea. Some rooms face the back with no sun and no real views. If it wasn't for the niggles then yes I'd give this 5 out of 5.
BUT.
The hotel cannot cope when full, especially when most are kids. Do your sums, 700 rooms. Third occupied by couples, third with 1 extra child and a third with 2 extra children. That's about 2000 bodies. Sunbeds around heated pool - 200. Most covered by a towel at 6:30am.
Seats in lobby bar - 300. Seats outside lobby bar - 50. Seats in auditorium for entertainment - 200. There just isn't enough room for everyone. The bars and dining rooms were very understaffed and the staff on duty were shattered and grumpy. We had to queue for everything.
There is only one free bar open in the evening and that is in the lobby. It is set up in such a way that you can hear the live music and the entertainment simultaneously. Just a loud din. Choice of a few cocktails and they are rubbish i.e. Pina Colada (tourist favorite) is just pineapple juice and white rum with ice cubes. Yes you can make your own spirit drinks but I found that the coke etc was always flat having been already dispensed into big jugs. Oh and it all shuts down at 11:00. Clever folk filled 3 glasses to see them through the evening. By the way, the entertainment, from what I was told, is outside in the summer. A full 10 minute walk and two levels up via stairs from the bar.
There are three big pools, one of which is heated. In winter only the heated pool is usable (others too cold) and as mentioned, you need to be up by 6:30 to get a sunbed. No honestly, we tried 8am then 7:30am and on day 4 we tried 7am but too late. After that it's only the lower cold pool available.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere (I knew this, not a problem). There is one free bus a day but again you need to queue for tickets 24 hours in advance. Also this hotel is NOT disabled wheelchair friendly.
In summing up. I get the feeling that Bahia Principe know that the Brits will put up with queues and 3* service in Spain but in Mexico where they cater for the Americans and Canadians they have to supply the best. There were no Germans here either, simply because they wouldn't put up with the service. If you've got children, get up early, love queuing, drink no more than 1 beer and go to bed at 8pm then go here as it is for you. On the other hand if going away for two weeks then compare Gran Bahia Principe Coba for price as it is ten times better

We stayed at the Bahia Prinicipe for a week in December. The all inclusive package seemed to good to be true. Our Junior Suite was spacious and appeared to be in a good location, close to the reception area and main restaurant. We asked if there would be any noise from the restaurant but were assured by the friendly receptionist that this would not be the case. We were then woken at 3am by the local dustman. Then again at 6am by a hotel employee jet washing the hotel! After complaining politely we were offered an alternative room the following day. This room was fantastic with a balcony overlooking the sea and the only sound was that of the waves crashing against the shore. The main restaurant was excellent, with plenty of choice for all. The wine was of average quality but their were alternatives. The speciality restaurants were rather disappointing with the exception of the seafood restaurant. If, like us, you are in need of a relaxing break with plenty of sunshine and no desire to leave the hotel, then this is the holiday for you!

My sister and I visited this hotel in July 2007 it was a fantastic hotel, the staff were all very nice and helpful!

The food was great we found the big restraunt a little big it felt as though you walked for 5 minutes to get food but on the plus side you could visit the smaller restraunts 3 times a week which was great and gave you some variety! We visited the spanish and italian which were both lovely and the service was super!

There was a good selection of drinks and never big ques to get one as you could help yourself to certain drinks!

The rooms where very clean and well equiped with a mini bar!

The evening entertainment was ok the reps done most of the shows but they were all fun!

The pools were also fab you could choose from the quiet one by the sea or the more lively one with things going on!

The only thing we found with this hotel was it was far away from the main resorts and the hotel bus transfers were not the best!

Overall this a gr8 hotel and I would highly recomend it and we'r planning our next holiday here!!

I stayed here with my husband, parents and sister for two weeks in September last year. I chose this hotel as we'd stayed at a Bahia in Domincan Republic and enjoyed that stay.

Before arrival I'd emailed the hotel requesting rooms together, on a high floor with a pool view. Although I never received a response that's exactly what we received when we checked in. Check in was smooth and quick as we arrived quite late in the day. We were given a map of the hotel, pointed in the direction of our rooms and told where the buffet was.

Room's were nice with everything you needed and the included mini bar was useful for enjoying a beer on the balcony.

I thought the food was very good here. It's a smalller resort than the Bahia we stayed at in Domincan, so the main buffet was a bit smalller, but it had plenty of choice. For breakfast there was an omlette station, all sorts of hot food, pancakes, waffles, pastrys and lots of fresh bread. For lunch we alternated between the main buffet and the smaller restaurant by the main pool. Again plenty of choice at both, and even my vegetarian husband always found something to eat. We ate in 4 al a cartes, the italian one twice as it had pasta cooked in front of you which was good for my husband, and the japanese and mexican at the Tenerife hotel. These were both good and although there was nothing vegetarian on the Mexican menu they were happy to make vegetable fajitas. We especcially enjoyed the tequila shots afterwards!

The alcohol selection was ok. I thought the white wine was undrinkable but the red and rose were good. I especcially liked the help yourself tables at the lobby for wine and spirits. It really cut down the queues at the bar and it was really easy to just quickly grab a drink. Only negative would be the limited selction of cocktails compared to what you find in carribean all inclusives.

We only watched a couple of the enternainment shows in the main square, most were just put on by the hotel staff which were ok, but the one really worth watching was the chinese acrobats, fantastic show.

The whole complex is very pretty and well maintained. The towel game was in full effect here, and if you wanted shade you needed to be down at the pool by around 8 am. We sat by the bottom pool everyday, as there was no entertainment staff down there so it was a quieter atmosphere. It's also right next to the snack bar that was good for a quick lunch by the pool, my sisters friend probably went through about 20 plates of chicken wings while we were there so they come highly recommended!

The complex is big and on quite a steep slope, so if you have walking difficulties this may not be the place for you.

Overall everyone in our group really enjoyed this resort and if I was looking to return to tenerife it's definetely one I would come back to.

My wife and I stayed here on our first proper holiday with our 10 month old son and loved it. The hotel looks great in the pictures and didnt disappoint on arrival. Everything is spotlessly clean and well looked after, plus the hotel is very new so everything is in good condition. Rooms are large and ours (like nearly all of the rooms) had a sea and pool view. Our room had a sitting area, large bathroom, and huge balcony and was nicely finished and kept very clean.

The pool was really nice although a little bit cramped, and unfortunately we had to resort to putting towels out before breakfast to ensure that we got a reasonable spot, something I hoped I would never have to admit to doing. Saying that the pools at the sister hotel right next door are much bigger and not as crowded if it bothers you. We never really found it a problem though. The pool slopes in at a very gentle angle so its great for kids to play. The sandy beach isnt that far and was much nicer than we expected although the sand doesnt go right to the waters edge and its rocks from there in. We liked the pool so much though that we only went once.

The main restaurant was really good and offered a great selection with reasonable variation each day. Additionally you can eat at the excellent speciality restaurants on 3 nights for no extra charge. We particularly liked the Mexican. The pool bar also served cheese and ham toasted sandwiches (bikini's !) and hot dogs most of the day. The main restaurant does provide baby food although they dont advertise it. I cant comment on whether it was nice but our little boy ate all of his each day. The restaurant staff are very understanding of the messy habits of young children and were'nt phased by the mess all over the floor at the end of each meal.

One aspect of the all inclusive arrangement that impressed us, although we didnt make full use of it, was how easy it was to get drinks from the bars and the pool bar. We really did get the impression that we could have drunk as much as we liked of the beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks. Pulling a cold spanish beer for yourself at the pool bar is a daily pleasure. There was never that feeling that the bar staff were keeping you waiting deliberately which seems to be a problem at other resorts I've stayed at.

One thing I think is worth bearing in mind is that there are a lot of stairs and although there are lifts its often necessary to take several to get to where you want, and some areas arent lift accessible. We didnt have a problem even with the pushchair but if you use a wheelchair or find stairs hard going this resort may not be a good choice.

Everyone, staff and guests included, were extremely friendly which made the stay extremely enjoyable. We will definately be going back
